This celebrated Miami band’s compilation provides a most pleasing romp through Gulf Coast roots music, expressed through the cut-above songwriting skills of leader/vocalist Graham Wood Drout.  As convincing with a soulful message as he is with party-time rave-ups, Drout’s verses are matched up with extremely tasty bayou rock, soul and New Orleans r&b.  The set is further flavored with side trips into mellow blues and spacier regions. Some serious sax and second-line drumming are additional treats. The leadoff track, “Party Car” stands out as do “Celebration” and “Jalapeno Be Thy Name”.
