From Greece, the Johnny V Band likes to rock ‘n roll. At a live gig, I’m sure they get the crowd on their feet. There’s also some YouTube video indicating that this band can play blues if they choose to. Fronted by Johnny Vatzolas on guitar and vocals, the rest of the band includes Dimitris Yalamas (bass), Nikos Vargiamidis (drums) and Perry K. (keyboards). Although there’s not a lot known about this band, several tasteful, raucous originals make this an interesting soulful album. “Poisoned Kiss” and “Midnight”, for example, start with engaging, rocking guitar riffs.
