About the Album
4 years after their debut Milwaukee, the bandMilwaukee released ‚their‘ 2nd album ‚Crossing Borders‘ and indeed, that’s what they did! Although the addition ‚And Friends‘ has a smaller printing than the bandname this album is actually the result of the collaboration with more than 20 guests from all over the world. The problems in organizing and coordinating all these recordings on various continents and during the Corona pandemic is the main reason it took more than 4 years to complete this album. But the result was worth the waiting. All these guests from Emma Wilson (GB), The Dewberries (Paula Jones and John Ragin/USA), Miiro Heikkila (FIN), Stefan Steinhäuser (D), Linda Heepen (D/AUS), Jochen Volpert (D), Ben Corner (GB), Lucy Malheur (D) to the Voices Of Spring (D) integrated so perfectly you wouldn’t even figure them not being regular band-members. Like the debut ‚Crossing Borders‘ also consists mainly of cover-versions but has the same relaxed ‚Sunny Sunday Afternoon‘-sound as ‚The Reunion Recordings‘. Again the Allman Brothers, Steely Dan and (this time) Sade spring to mind on another flawless production courtesy of my friend Olaf (who also plays guitar) and sax-player Stefan Koch. The CD comes again in a digi-pak with an 8 p.full-colour-booklet telling the whole story of the project.
