Five albums in, Denmark’s spacy, progressive instrumental band My Beloved released Tarnish in 2022. Somewhere between psychedelic-surf but leaning more towards Pink Floyd minimalism, Tarnish is a fine album to spread the word about this exciting European instrumental guitar-noir band. With no vocals to distract, the 12-track, 66-minute CD is a most atmospheric listening experience. The most accurate comparison I could find would be to some of Pink Floyd’s most experimental music during the Ummagumma era. Another comparison would be to the sound of the 1980s era U.K. guitar band Durutti Column.

My Beloved features a quartet of gifted instrumentalists that are clearly on the same sonic wavelength. Featured in the Tarnish lineup are Iver Ask Overgaard – guitars, Danny Søndergaard – drums, Thor Vincent – bass and Lars Kivig - piano/synths. You can find My Beloved on bandcamp and on their record label website. My Beloved creates groundbreaking and experimental sounding progressive instrumentals.
