Despite its gloomy sounding title, there’s a decidedly “bontemps” vibe to this Louisiana blues-and-roots session.  Drummer “Big Al” Lauro and partners serve up a solid set of tasty, band-penned originals strong on regional flavor, energy and party atmosphere.  Strong tracks include “Bayou Life”, “Fool For You”, “Spanish Moss” and the romping title track.  Pianist Greg Shatz stands out in a kick-butt crew of players including guests guitarist Bob Margolin and harmonica ace Jason Ricci.
