The centennial celebration of Pete Seeger yields another pleasing tribute courtesy of Jersey-bred folksinger Spook Handy.  A fellow traveler of Seeger’s much of this century, Mr. Handy mixes Seeger-penned gems with originals and adaptations inspired by the folk legend.  “Listen, Mr. Bilbo (Make America Great)” is Handy’s potent, timely reworking of a Robert and Adrienne Claiborne song oft performed by Seeger.  Of a similar bent is Woody Guthrie’s “Mister Charlie Lindbergh (America First)”. An arrangement of the Seeger/Lee Hays classic “If I Had A Hammer” is as congenial as it is inspiring.
