The singing, songwriting duo of Shawn Fisher and Jordyn Jackson find themselves right at home in pop-friendly territory with a broad repertoire of feelings, perspectives and emotions. Their set ranges from the breezy title cut “Concentric” to edgy rockers like “(Love is) Running Me Ragged.” Showing pop sensibilities, the duo’s music should garner them considerable airplay and a strong fan base. Flagship Romance’s strength is their appealing earthiness in songs like “California Mansions” and the thoughtful “Belly of the Beast.” Their material is varied and alluring folk-pop. They simply get into the groove with “Sex + Drugs + Rock + Roll + Kitties” that takes all of us on a wild ride. And in the next instant, the duo is sweetly singing “Chardonnay,” a wistful ballad with a sweet melancholy that’s starkly intimate. The hauntingly direct “Julie Wants To Go To War” is powerful and deep, and “This Land Was Your Land” has witticisms and a sarcastic twist. Fisher and Jackson hail from New Mexico (the Land of Enchantment), and their music similarly possesses a certain je ne sais quoi that’s both delightful and charming. (Joe Ross, Roots Music Report)
