Rory Block’s early-on acquaintance with Bob Dylan via the burgeoning NYC folk scene of the early 60’s sounds manifest in her spirited readings of his songs, down to a detectable lean towards the edge in his early-era vocals.  Ms. B.’s take on “Mr. Tambourine Man” brings it back to its folksinger roots, prior to The Byrds’ classic rock recasting.  Other tracks of note include “Ring Them Bells”, “Not Dark Yet” and a suitably disturbing journey through “Murder Most Foul”.
