Jimmy Ryan and Ryanetics Music, Ltd. is proud to announce the 2023 release of “Beatboxer”, a two-song single featuring Jimmy’s 11 year old grandson, Declan M. Voigt, a rising talent in the world of beatboxing. The art of beatboxing has been described as “a form of vocal percussion primarily involving the art of mimicking drum machines (typically a TR-808) using one's mouth, lips, tongue, and voice.”

American guitar icon Jimmy Ryan, co-founder of instrumental prog-rock band The Flyin’ Ryan Brothers, released his critically acclaimed solo album, "Astral Café" in 2021 and he followed it up with a New Age instrumental album called "The Healing Guitar" in 2022. Both albums feature Jimmy teamed with his long-time drummer, Dan Van Schindel. Furthering the Ryan guitar legacy, Jimmy and Dan join forces with Declan M. Voigt on “Beatboxer” .

The story of Jimmy’s new 2-sided single, “Beatboxer” is equally fascinating. After happening to hear Declan beatboxing, Jimmy was so knocked out that he proceeded to write two songs featuring his beatboxing talents. As an added bonus, Declan also named the songs “Lava Bullet” and “DMV” himself!

Featuring Jimmy’s signature rock guitar stylings and the virtuosic drumming of his long-time musical compatriot Dan Van Schindel, the 2023 single shines the spotlight on the unique and mind-blowing beatboxing talents of his grandson Declan, indisputably qualifying “Beatboxer” as Jimmy’s coolest release yet. It’s also worth noting that Declan’s mom, Jimmy’s daughter Julie Voigt, worked with Jimmy on a 2021 children’s book called "The Raindrop And The Bubble” which featured Julie’s illustrations based around an original story by Jimmy.
