About the Band

New sounds, ancient tones.

Newtime Stringband is the brainchild of composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Chris Mullins. Originally from Kentucky and now based in Northern California; Mullins’ music blends genres from bluegrass and old-time to blues and hip-hop to create original songs and reimagined Appalachian ballads.
