About the Band
THUNDERCLAP! is a singer/songwriter/performer originally from Niagara Falls, ON. His music’s been played on radio stations around the globe, and he’s performed live all over North America and Europe.
In 2013 THUNDERCLAP embarked on a 7 city East Coast Canadian Tour with Spooky Ruben.
THUNDERCLAP’s holiday radio release “The Ghost of Christmas Past” (2014) garnered radioplay across Canada.
His 2016 debut LP, "Hell Bent On Success", was produced by Spookey Ruben (Feist, Ke$ha) and includes notable guests Bob Wiseman (Blue Rodeo), Mary Margaret O'Hara (Miss America) and Dave Clark (Rheostatics, Gord Downie).
Lately THUNDERCLAP’s been spending most of his time in the studio; writing & recording two new albums. He’s recently released three singles: the pandemic inspired 832 lyrical behemoth “Epidemication”, an absurd holiday song “It’s Just What I Wanted”, and an ode to a dear friend and mentor, “Be Resurrected Tonight”. All three songs came with a music video, which can be viewed on THUNDERCLAP’s YouTube channel.
Although sometimes backed up by other musicians, THUNDERCLAP prefers to take the stage alone. He believes that the intimate dynamics of the voice can be lost in band situations and taking a stage alone heightens the vulnerability of the performer, creating a deeper emotional rapport with the audience. THUNDERCLAP performs on the streets regularly, titillating audiences with his unique style as a "guerilla folk poet”.
THUNDERCLAP prides himself with a diverse set of lyrical subject matter. His background in method acting and its necessary comprehension of human psychology flavours his approach to composition and stream of conscious styled writing. What THUNDERCLAP offers in original content, although artistic and thought-provoking, is just as equally hooky and memorable.
