About the Band
Roughly a decade ago I made a music career decision and moved my geographic, music performance focus away from the big city markets of Washington DC and Baltimore Maryland.
Although the music and camaraderie were gratifying the distances involved began to take its toll as I pushed beyond my 60's into unknown territory.
My timing could not have been better as the roots music scene around my home turf of Frederick County Maryland was exploding and I was fortunate to land a permanent gig with an up and coming regional act, “Michelle Hannan and One Blue Night”.
In addition to Michelle and em' I found a “career” in fill-in and recording gigs, playing everything from bluegrass to punk/heavy rock . It's been quite the ride.
What's This Music Daddy business?
It's uh, age related. This is what happens when you're decades older than the rest of the band. I've been fortunate that after almost 10 years of performances, a pandemic and three recording projects that I'm encouraged to offer my experiences and thoughts in addition to the traditional role of hired“side man”.
I credit (discredit) Jason Hannan with the Music Daddy tag. It seems to have stuck.
