About the Band
In 2011, the band Michele D'Amour and the Love Dealers was formed when the stars aligned -- Michele's lifelong affinity for the blues, her experience writing and performing, and the emergence of the right founding band members. The band released its first EP, "Sin Comin' On," in February 2014. The EP includes four covers and three originals written by Michele. Michele D’Amour and the Love Dealers was also a Washington Blues Society finalist for the 2014 International Blues Challenge that year.
The 2015 CD, Ante Up, features twelve original songs penned by Michele. Those tracks were developed and road-tested in 2014 as the group played various festivals and venues, and recorded in the fall of 2014.
2017's album, Lost Nights at the Leopard Lounge, includes twelve new original tunes, including two that Michele co-wrote with Cory Wilds. The album debuted the week of June 24, 2017 on the Roots Music Report at #46 for Blues, #20 in Contemporary Blues, and #1 for Washington State
2018's album, Wiggle Room, includes ten new original tunes and the addition of piano and sax to the mix. The album debuted on the Roots Music Report the week of August 13, 2017 at #6 on the Jazzy Blues chart and #9 on the Washington State blues chart.
Honors:
- The band was selected for rotation on STEAM Magazine Radio for April 2015;
- Ante Up was one of four CDs chosen by International Blues Broadcasters (IBBA) as Pick of the Month for May 2015;
- The song "Trouble" was awarded a Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, 2017;
- 2018 Best Washington Blues Recording nomination from Washington Blues Society - Lost Nights at the Leopard Lounge;
- 2018 Best Blues Songwriter nomination from Washington Blues Society - Michele D'Amour;
- 2018 Best Bass nomination from Washington Blues Society - Patrick McDanel
