The High Road Home brings you a progressive bluegrass sound with a clear focus on lyrically-driven songwriting.

The band had its early beginnings in 2017 when David Allen Willis brought together a number of fellow musicians (including bassist Jens Davis) to build a band around a handful of songs he had written. Experimenting with different iterations, the band finally completed its current lineup when David met Tad Smith (dobro) and Adam Hines (banjo) at a bluegrass festival in 2018, and they soon after joined the band.

Within the first few months, this lineup won the 2019 Ullrgrass band competition and received high praise from judge Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth, who was very emotionally moved by the heartfelt acoustic performance of the group's final song. They knew then that they had something special on their hands. The band continues to push the boundaries of bluegrass music, relentlessly experimenting with arrangements and improvisation during their live shows.

In December of 2019, the band released their first single “Running Kind” and are following up with their first EP release in January 2020, titled “Outrun the Seasons".
