In 2016 Daphne Guinness released her solo album Optimist In Black and four years on, she’s back in 2020 with Revelations. Since David Bowie died in 2016, the sonic void has been palpable but, thankfully Daphne’s music revives a kindred, Bowie-inspired spirit. To up her game, Daphne’s new one is produced once again by Bowie’s long-time producer and arranger Tony Visconti. Infused with a mix of modern-day post-disco meets revived glam-rock magic, Revelations features a fresh batch of memorable music co-written by Daphne and Malcolm Doherty (guitars, programming, backing vocals). Assisting both are a range of fine musicians, including keyboard icon Roger Manning, while producer Visconti contributes his legendary bass work and assorted sonic accoutrements like theramin and ocarina. For those music listeners still purchasing compact discs, Revelations features amazing artwork including three full color booklets with mind-blowing album art. Much like he did for Bowie and T.Rex, Tony Visconti also contributes his brilliant string arrangements which balances the hard-driving disco-meets-rock beat that permeates Revelations. A legend in her own right, singer-songwriter / diva, Daphne Guinness tastefully rises to the occasion on the absolute sonic energy of Revelations.
