Another delightful contemporary bluegrass album with heartfelt music, Things She Couldn’t Get Over captures the IBMA’s multiple award winner Dale Ann Bradley at the top of her game.  Bradley now fronts a band called “Moon Runner” with Matt Leadbetter (resophonic guitar), Ethan Burkhardt (bass), Kim Fox (guitar) and Mike Sumner (banjo). Guest instrumentalists on this project include Jim Hurst (guitar), Ashby Frank (mandolin), and presumably Michael Cleveland (fiddle) who was thanked in the liner notes. Kim Fox and Matt Leadbetter sing background vocals, along with Ronnie Bowman, Ashby Frank and Aaron Bibelhauser who provide them on one track apiece.

Bradley always emphasizes unique, fresh and honest music that lifts spirits. “After While” is upbeat and joyous, but the singer also is equally adept with emotional and passionate ballads like "Falling Down,” “Yellow Creek,” “Lynwood,” and “In the End.” Bradley's robust vocals have built her a legion of fans around the world. A Kentucky preacher’s daughter, Bradley has a signature sound that blends bluegrass, country and folk into a pleasantly captivating mix. It’s always nice to hear some of her original material, and she doesn’t disappoint with “Lost More Than I Knew,” “Living on the Edge,” and the title cut about a broken woman whose pain from the past hinders her search for freedom.

Bradley’s repertoire recognizes how important the messages and stories are in songs. Dreams, faith, hope, compassion and love are core values that she sings about. Also, Bradley now produces her albums. Her experience, business acumen and character come through loud and clear. The ten songs on Things She Couldn’t Get Over have indelible messages that provide insight into who she is and provide us with encouraging words and comforting bluegrass music during challenging times.  (Joe Ross, Roots Music Report)
