Friends of Joey Spampinato will hopefully generate financial help for the health-challenged co-founder of NRBQ and certainly bring energy and particular flair to a collection of his songs.  The bassist/guitarist/songwriter’s markedly unique knack for cross-weaving rockin' roots with pop sophistication gets spirited and diverse interpretation from an impressive list of contributors and just might motivate the uninitiated to dive into the Q catalog.  Standouts include alum Al Anderson’s “You Can’t Hide”, Deer Tick’s take on “That I Get Back Home” and the closing ballad “First Crush” featuring the man himself & wife Kami Lyle.  Additonal guests include Keith Richards, Los Lobos, Ben Harper and Bonnie Raitt.
