Regarded for his many fine recordings as the drummer in the jam band Slightly Stoopid, Ryan Moran has truly stepped into the spotlight with his 2021 solo album Kinetic. Released under Ryan’s moniker of Rymo, the 16-cut Kinetic is a masterpiece of progressive instrumental music meets instrumental World music, with all tracks infused with Rymo’s skillful approach of merging World-based chill grooves.

Another key to the incredible backdrop of space-age chillout grooves on Kinetic is the excellent fretboard work of both stick master Tom Griesgraber and the ace fretboard of Marty Schwartz. Totally in tune with Rymo’s drums, keyboards, percussion as well as sound effects, Griesgraber also adds in Moog taurus pedals and other various sound treatment that adds a full-bodied, otherworldly vibe.

Several percussionists appear and horn players assist on a track here called “Mr. Roboto Visits The Outback” that really drives the beat to further inspired heights not to mention an appearance as well by stick legend Tony Levin on the surf-y "Spy Theme". There’s such a wild diversity in play on Kinetic that you don’t know what’s coming next. World beat, chill-out and New Age fans will dig the percussion / drumming grooves of Rymo.
