Masters of contemporary jazz and fusion CDs, Chicago-based Blujazz strikes vocal jazz gold with the recent release of I Just Found Out About Love by singer Kelly Eisenhour. Kicking off with a sizzling cover of “All Or Nothing At All”, written in 1939 and made famous by Frank Sinatra, Kelly Eisenhour taps into the Great American Songbook with a cross-section of jazz classics, each featuring her captivating vocals. Backed up by a fine band including Jeff Hamilton (drums), Tamir Hendelman (piano) and Christoph Luty (bass), Ms. Eisenhour shines on this 13 track album of vintage jazz. With its stellar selection of classics, the album’s title track “I Just Found Out About Love”, dates back to the short-lived 1956 musical Strip For Action. The album spotlights covers a range of songs written by Cole Porter, Sergio Mendes, Jimmy Dorsey and Henry Mancini, to name a few composers paired with various lyricists, while other covers are more in the pocket favorites rooted in the Classic American songbook.

In her album notes, Kelly states, “The whole process from first rehearsal to finished product lasted 6 days, with 2 days of rehearsals and 4 days of recording and mixing. From these demanding recording sessions a beautiful collection of standards was created.” Kelly’s previous album Seek And Find, featuring saxophone master Bob Mintzer was a success. Following years as a guest soloist with the Boston Pops Orchestra and work with singer Gladys Night as well as gaining her music degree from Berkeley School Of Music, Kelly’s solo career is poised to take off. Perhaps the attraction of I Just Found Out About Love is how she brings these pop standards into the era of modern jazz.

Produced by Kay Goodson, and recorded at the world famous Capital Records studios in Los Angeles, I Just Found Out About Love is a well-timed collection of timeless tunes from pop chanteuse Kelly Eisenhour. www.kellyeisenhourmusic.com
