Vocalist Annika Chambers hardly ever takes her foot of the accelerator here, very much to the benefit of any listener in the mood to be moved. Ms. C.’s ability to temper her phenomenal vocal power with a consistent sensitivity to her lyrical message serves the song well on tracks including the rousing, second-line seasoned leadoff number, “You’ve Got To Believe”, and a strutting, soulful recasting of George Harrison’s “Isn’t It A Pity”.  Partner/guitarist Paul Deslauriers and session mate JP Soars serve up suitable fretboard fire to complement; Mr. D’s particularly spirited sounding chorus on the slow blues “Need Your Love So Bad” being a shining example. Nice work all around.
