Those who’ve enjoyed Diane Blue’s work with Ronnie Earl’s band should find much to enjoy in this “live” set.  The Boston-based Ms. B makes a strong case for her place upon the top tier of contemporary female blues vocalists and displays more than a little skill penning tunes as well. Her co-write with organist Dave Limina, the mid-tempo soul ballad “Crazy, Hazy, Lazy” is an instant ear-catcher as is the constantly simmering “By My Side”, co-written with guitarist Chris Vitarello.  Her haunting workup of the Millie Jackson-popularized “I Cry” and her own slow blues, “Leave Me Alone”- featuring Mr. Earl himself- stand out as well.
