Stan Mosely’s scorching, soulful vocals evoke a youthful O.V. Wright and set a high bar for old-school r&b releases for the remainder of the year.  The Chicago-bred Mr. M sears his way through the leadoff track, Bill Coday’s “I’m Back To Collect” and his own “Blues Man (No Soul, No Blues)” and teams up with vocalist Crystal Thomas for a pair of captivating duets- a Wilson Pickett co-write, “Stomp” and a multi-tempoed take on the Temptations’ classic “I Can’t Get Next To You”.  Good, good stuff.
