The Refugees’ inviting harmonic blend suits this 60’s and 70’s song list well, breathing fresh life into a smartly-selected group of West Coast-originated gems.  Possessed of both precision and warmth, the group vocals of veterans Cydni Bullens, Deborah Holland and Wendy Waldman revive classic works of Crosby, Stills and Nash, The Byrds, The Beach Boys and others.  The C,S&N covers,  “You Don’t Have To Cry” and “Carry On” stand out in particular, as does The Byrds’ “So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star”.  Taking on the Beach Boys’ “Good Vibrations” is no mean feat either.
