The power and earthy delivery Tracy Nelson has displayed so well in decades past, still serves her well on this first new album in a decade.  Enhanced by appearances of longtime fellow travelers, the veteran roots vocalist serves up a varied set of well-chosen classic gems and poignant co-writes.  Willie Nelson, Marcia Ball and Charlie Musselwhite, among others, show up on tracks including Hank Williams’ “Honky Tonkin’”, Chuck Berry’s “Brown Eyed Handsome Man” and Willie Dixon’s “It Don’t Make Sense”.  The show stealer, however, is Ms. Nelson’s captivating reading of Stephen Foster’s “Hard Times”.
