Levinger, aka Banana of The Youngbloods, recasts favorites of that legendary 60’s San Francisco band in a congenial acoustic atmosphere as abundant in nice pickin’ as it is in all-around good vibes.  The sweet-as-country-water Jesse Colin Young vocals of yore are replaced by Levinger’s gravelly pipes which bestow their own charm on these classics.  Standing out are compelling takes of “Darkness, Darkness” and the Dino Valenti-penned gem this group took “ownership” of, “Get Together”. Ry Cooder, David Grisman and Mr. Young himself head up the guest list.
