Donna Ulisse’s album Hard Cry Moon is another testament to her amazing voice and talent. As much as I loved her 2013 album Showin’ My Roots, I really love when she sings her own Bluegrass music.

Donna’s voice always conveys a lot of emotion but with this album she really out did herself. This album is dedicated to her grandfathers and most of the songs are written with nods to experiences or stories they shared with her. It’s no wonder you can hear the love in her voice when she sings songs like "Papa’s Garden" and "Workin’ on the C & O".

Standouts include: “Hard Cry Moon’, “We’re gonna Find a Preacher” and “It could have been the Mandolin”.
