An alumnus of one of Nashville’s more rockin’ late 80’s duos, vocalist/guitarist Bill Lloyd here focuses on pop gems from the 60’s and 70’s, striking a nice balance between respect for the originals and finding his own voice inside them.  And if his driving leadoff take on the Bobby Fuller Four classic “Let Her Dance” speaks clearly to his Foster & Lloyd roots, he sounds equally at home with the pretty pop of Nilsson- “The Lottery Song” and the Raspberries- “Goin’ Nowhere Tonight”.  Mr. Lloyd’s version of “Lonely You” seems more Big Star than the original Badfinger and he extracts all the urgency of Wreckless Eric’s “Whole Wide World” without mimicking the original. The Beatles- “Across The Universe” and Todd Rundgren- “I Don’t Want To Tie You Down” are respectfully represented as well.
