With exquisitely world-weary vocals and worldly-wise, plain spoken lyrics mostly of his own creation, country legend Bobby Bare serves up a masterful set of old-school fare, track after satisfying track. A duet remake of his classic Danny Dill/Mel Tillis-penned hit “Detroit City”, with Chris Stapleton, should attract attention but there’s plenty of songs present that could catch on including “Ain’t No Sure Thing”, “I Drink” and the title track.
