Once again, Appalachin-bred Dori Freeman here treks both roots and pop pathways with charming, unpretentious vocals and, this time, a predominantly sunny attitude.  Even at a darker moment here- “That’s Alright”- her take on a failed love conveys a warm-hearted nature that radiates everywhere else on this song list.  Producer Teddy Thompson’s celebrated guitarist dad, Richard, bolsters the affair with his distinctive play and Ms. Freeman’s cover of his “I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight” should be an airplay cinch.  Other strong tracks include “If I Could Make You My Own”, “Turtle Dove” and “Lovers On The Run”.
