With her plainspoken lyrics, uncomplicated rhymes and warm-hearted delivery, Ann Armstrong transports the listener to emotional regions sometimes placid (“Reno,” “Margarita In My Hand”), sometimes unexpectedly intense (Face To Face”, “Movin’ On”) but always worth the trip.  The West Texas singer/guitarist spells these excursions with a couple delightful stops in blues territory (Lil Green’s “Knocking Myself Out”, Brownie McGhee’s “You Don’t Know”).  Worth running down.
