Formed in late 2015, Borrowed Tyme Band is a group of talented bluegrass musicians from Central Indiana. The band includes Roger Brown (mandolin), Josh Woods (banjo), Dan Canerday (guitar) and Rick Wilson (bass). Others on their debut album include Tony Wray (guitar, vocals on one track), Tim Crouch (fiddle) and Dara Wray (vocals on one track). Roger joined his father’s band, Raymond Brown and the Traveling Grass, in the mid-1980s. Now deceased, his dad once said, “We’re all living on borrowed time,” and that statement has guided the creative spirit and muse of this fine band that presents traditional material (from A.P. Carter, Ralph Stanley, Carter Stanley, Flatt & Scruggs), as well as several originals (written by Roger Brown or Rick Wilson). This 2018 debut album is on Bonfire Records, a division of Pinecastle. In their title track, the band encourages us to “make the best of today” and to “be wise with our time before it fades away.” The band looks forward to taking their bluegrass as far as it can go. This album will surely help them get some well-deserved air play, gigs, fans and recognition.  (Joe Ross, Roots Music Report)
