Jersey-bred harmonica man Vin Mott completes the hat trick necessary to make a splash in the present-day blues world; his solid harp work and convincing vocal delivery getting a further boost from his genre-savvy lyrical sense.  While mostly an “up” session mood-wise, expressed on tracks including “Give Me Cornbread” and “Ice Cold Beer”, darker regions are visited on “Paterson Is Crumblin’” and Mr. Mott proves his ballad skills on “Fire To Your Flame”. The tight, tasty play of this unit overall serves as a virtual clinic on small-group blues.
