Literally years in the making, Mike Duke’s debut release is a first-rate feast of well-crafted pop/soul, delivered via the veteran singer/songwriter/keyboardist’s robust, rough-hewn vocals.  An alumnus of Southern rock outfit Wet Willie and 80’s hit writer for Huey Lewis & the News (“Doin It All For My Baby”) Mr. Duke here strings together a solid succession of quality tracks- some recently recorded, others dating back decades though never previously released- that make for top-notch present-day airplay bait.  Standouts in a strong lineup include “Little Miss Ponytail”, “I’m Not So Sad Tonight” and “Hope You Love Me Like You Say You Do”.
