About the Album

The fifth album by Johnny and The MoTones.  The group has recorded at some of the most historic recording studios in the USA; Sun Studios, Memphis, TN, Fame Recording Studio, Muscle Shoals, AL and now, Warner Brothers Recording Studio, Nashville, TN.

Pianist, leader and founder, John "Johnny" Altenburgh, has been recording since his first solo album, "Old City" was released in 1988.  His music can be heard on 15 solo (mostly jazz) albums, 5 MoTones albums as well as umerous television & radio productions.  In addition, Altenburgh has appeared on over a thousand compilation albums.  Altenburgh composed andjsings five songs on Highway 51.

 

Guitarist and Co-leader, Mitch Viegut has been recording and performing since his days with the 1980/90's group, AIRKRAFT.  Signed to Curb Records in his 20s, Viegut has been a valuable addition to the MoTones since his arrival in 2004.  Mitch wrote and sang five of the selections on this album.
