About the Album
This debut album from The Family Sowell features three brand-new, spectacular originals penned by members of the family along with some of Nashville's top songwriters. It also includes covers of two hard-core, traditional bluegrass numbers, a Contemporary Christian song in a signature "grassed-up" style, a heart-felt rendition of a beautiful hymn, a Joey + Rory tune, and two straight-up Gospel songs. The CD ends with a bang, culminating in a live version of the classic barn-burner fiddle tune, "Orange Blossom Special," recorded at Dollywood's Back Porch Theater, with a special guest appearance by the steam engine known as Klondike Katie! Be on the lookout for this band to pull into your church or festival, and enjoy some down-home, family-friendly music! You won't be disappointed!
Special Thanks
We would like to first and foremost give thanks and praise to our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, for giving us the talents and gifts to share our music with others, and to spread His love wherever we go. We'd also like to thank our parents, Guynn & Cindy Sowell, for their prayers and support of our pursuit of excellence in this music we love. A very special thanks goes to Stephen Mougin of Dark Shadow Recording, and to Mrs. Vicki Wehmeyer, for their coaching and help in honing our skills to bring our best to the stage and to the audience. We wouldn't be where we are without you! And a final thanks to all our fans and friends, who come watch us do what we love, and support us through gifts and prayers. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!!!
