When Steven Halpern released his first album for meditation and healing in 1975, there was no genre that described compositions that downplayed the role of melody, rhythm and predictability. His album liner notes introduced the phrase ‘ambient soundscapes’, before Eno released his own versions, though his glam rockstar status garnered much of the credit.

Music For Microdosing (Sound Therapy Music Series) was produced with the conscious intention to create a portal for long time and new fans of all generations to experience the blissful natural high when your brainwaves are balanced and synchronized in the deep alpha brainwave state… a sonic portal to mindfulness and inner peace.

Unlike many albums that are streaming nowadays, No AI was involved in composing and producing this masterpiece.

For those new to this field, it must be noted that the term ‘microdosing’ refers to taking very small amounts of psilocybin, not the large doses that result in the typical ‘trip’. However, no ingestion of any plant medicine is necessary in order to enjoy the elevational enhancements provided by the music itself.

Each track is a masterpiece of subtlety and serenity, enhanced with precise entrainment frequencies in the deep alpha (8 cycles per second, or 8 Hz) range, presenting a magical carpet of sound that supports journeying, journaling, meditation and massage therapy.

Music For Microdosing explores timeless arrangements of slowly-evolving atmospherics. Half of the tracks feature collaborations with guest artists including Grammy winning bass virtuoso Michael Manring (“Root Chakra Resonance”), electronic textures by Richard Horowitz (“Inner Space, Outer Space”), arpeggios by Michael Diamond and shakuhachi bamboo flute master Jorge Alfano.

Halpern’s iconic Rhodes electric piano is showcased on “Heart Mind Coherence”, “Sonic Elevation” and “Receiving Insights”.

Brimming with psycho-active sounds, Music For Microdosing is a tremendous starting point for younger audiences that grew up on EDM and chill music and is essential listening for Steven Halpern’s long time and loyal fans.
